ATSER was retained by the Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation in a joint-venture with Schindewolf Associates to provide owner's representative services for the new NFL Stadium in Houston. ATSER provided program and construction management services for the $440 million Reliant Stadium adjoining the west side of the Astrodome. The stadium features a seating capacity of 69,500, a retractable roof and a grass tray system for rapid removal and conversion to a dirt or concrete surface for Rodeos and Concerts. ATSER was retained by the Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation to provide owner's representative services for renovations and improvements to the Astrodome Complex. ATSER provided program and construction management services for the new 1.3 million square foot Exhibition Hall and improvements and renovations to the Astrodome, Astrohall and Astroarena. Other projects included construction of a 3,000-car parking lot with two elevated pedestrian walkways in addition to a central heating and cooling facility to service new and existing exhibition buildings on the Astrodomain site.

Texaco Grand Prix Racetrack

ATSER provided specialized expertise in the design of the surface course and materials inspection and testing for the 2.3 mile Texaco Grand Prix Race Track near Houston's George R. Brown Convention Center. The track is subjected to extreme conditions imposed by "Indy Race Cars" with top speeds in excess of 180 mph and maximum accelerations in hairpin turns of 7-g forces. ATSER designed a SuperpaveŽ technology special surface course to handle this unique application as well as accommodate normal traffic.

ATSER was retained by the contractor to provide on-site scheduling services for the seamless expansion of the existing 1.15 million square foot center to 1.8 million square feet. Construction was completed within the 27-month timeframe at a cost of $360 million without interrupting existing convention center operations.
